U13 Féile 2025 Preview: Johnstown Welcomes the Future of Rounders

The 2025 GAA Rounders U13 Féile takes place this Saturday at Clann na nGael GAA grounds in Johnstown, South Roscommon, and excitement is building for one of the most enjoyable days in the juvenile calendar. With 12 talented teams – six girls’ and six boys’ – converging on Roscommon, the event promises thrilling games, emerging stars, and memories that will last a lifetime.

Girls Féile: Can Glynn Barntown Go Back-to-Back?

Reigning champions Glynn Barntown return to defend the crown they lifted last year, and they’ll be considered the team to beat once again. With well-drilled fielding and an eye for the big moments, the Wexford side know how to win on this stage.

They won’t have it easy, though. Erne Eagles bring serious pedigree and are known for producing tough, athletic teams. Athenry, making waves in underage Rounders, will be keen to show that Galway can challenge on the national stage.

Cuchulainn and Elphin are both well-balanced sides with sharp hitters and clever fielding units, while Emo always bring great spirit and structure to any competition they enter.

Expect drama, tight games, and some magic moments before the girls’ champions are crowned.

Boys Féile: Open Field as New Contenders Rise

In the boys’ division, 2025 looks wide open. Wexford’s Glynn Barntown are always a force, but this year’s field offers several serious challengers.

Michael Glaveys, representing the host county, will be hoping to turn local support into a deep run.

Elphin also from Roscommon and Kilmeena have both impressed in the past, and if they click early, they’ll be hard stopped. Emo carry real Rounders pedigree and will look to build momentum from the group stage. Meanwhile, Erne Eagles are perennial contenders with a habit of producing big-game performances.

With semi-finals and finals all taking place after the round robins, teams will need to manage energy and nerves as they chase All-Ireland and Shield honours.

It’s More Than Just Silverware

While the Cup titles will grab the headlines, the Shield and Plate competitions offer just as much excitement – often delivering the tightest games and biggest celebrations. Every team will get their moment on the big stage, and that’s what Féile is all about.

This is a day for developing skills, representing your club, and making memories with teammates. Win or lose, these young players are the future of Rounders in Ireland.
