The Club
The club remains the cornerstone of our organisation and the lifeblood of GAA Rounders. Clubs are run by committees, much like within the wider GAA. Many are part of GAA Clubs under the “One Club Model”, while others operate as standalone clubs, managing their own grounds and affairs independently. Both models are vital to the continued growth and success of our sport.
The Ard Comhairle (National Council)
The Ard Chomhairle (AC) is responsible for managing the national affairs of GAA Rounders. It consists of up to 17 members, each elected annually at our AGM in November.
One member of the wider GAA, appointed by the Uachtarán Chumann Lúthchleas Gael, acts as our Liaison Officer, offering advice, support, and assistance on GAA-related matters. Our current Liaison Officer is Michael Meaney of Carlow.
The present Ard Chomhairle is made up of the following:
The primary role of the Ard Chomhairle is to organise competitions, promote the game of Rounders nationally, and continue building on the work laid out in our Development Plan.
Competitions Control Committee (CCC)
The CCC plays a vital and broader role than in other areas of the GAA. Alongside maintaining discipline, the committee is responsible for setting fixtures, making decisions on the outcomes of matches when required, and ensuring the smooth running of all competitions once entries are confirmed. They are tasked with upholding the highest standards of fairness and integrity within our games.
Referees Committee
The Referees Committee is responsible for the recruitment, training, assignment, and welfare of referees across all grades of GAA Rounders. It plays a crucial part in ensuring that matches are officiated to the highest standards.
