🔹 Intermediate Rounders Results – Sunday 1 June 2025
It was a thrilling weekend in the Intermediate Championships, with last-ball finishes, surprise upsets, and dominant statements. Here’s a full recap of Sunday’s results across the Men’s, Ladies, and Mixed grades.
🏟️ Intermediate Men – Emo
Emo 26–25 Galway City Rapparees A thriller from first pitch to final out. Galway led for long stretches but Emo held their nerve with a massive final inning to edge it by one. After knocking out by Galway in last year’s quarter-final, this was another win for the Laois side. Both now sit on one win each in a competitive group.
🏟️ Intermediate Ladies – Emo
Emo 30–17 Galway City Rapparees This was a statement performance from Emo after a sluggish start to their campaign. Their batters finally found form, racking up 30 runs in a relentless display. For the Rapparees, it was a tough Intermediate debut – but they’ll learn from it fast.
🏟️ Intermediate Ladies – St Clare’s
St. Clare’s 5–16 Michael Glavey’s Glavey’s were efficient and ruthless, putting the game to bed early. They now move to 2–2 and remain firmly in the semi-final hunt.
St. Clare’s 7–6 Michael Glavey’s (Intermediate Mixed) But the Clare’s Mixed team got their revenge later that afternoon, pulling off a 7–6 win in one of the best games of the day. Glavey’s left runners stranded many runners on bases – and Clare’s took full advantage.
🏟️ Intermediate Ladies – The Heath
The Heath 27–25 Kilmeena What a game. A shootout between two of the most unpredictable sides in the championship. The Heath edge a second win and remain unbeaten, while Kilmeena are still winless – but have lost four incredibly close games.
🏟️ Intermediate Ladies – Na Fianna
Glynn Barntown 9–14 Carrickmacross Emmets The clash of the titans lived up to its billing. Glynn Barntown struck early but Carrick’s depth and patience proved decisive. With three wins from three, Carrickmacross Emmets now look like the team to beat in this grade.
