Championship week 8

Game week 8 started on July the 2nd. First up was the two Ladies teams that have been inseparable so far, Glynn/Barntown V Breaffy. All Ireland Feeling was all over this match! The Mayo ladies unleashed in the 3rd innings, batting in 9 runs with the help from Breaffy's Katie Kenny who hit a monster ball over 2nd base. Final result 10-3.

The Mayo club took on Bagenalstown in mixed after. Breaffy's Colm Jordan set his team alight with a massive hit bringing 3 home but Carlow's Darryl blocked him from the home run he was looking for! Match result 13-7.

Over the road The Heath hosted Dublin's Na Fianna. A game that was very one sided for last year's men's champions, who ran out comfortable winners on a score line 20-1.

Thursday the 6th seen Cuchulainn against the Heath in mixed championship. Cuchulainn put on a strong front for the first 2 innings with Katie Brennan and Anne Marie Brennan dominating. Laois' Donnagh Treacy hit a ball "out of the park" to put The Heath ahead. Special mention to Ballon's Henrick who showed all players his dedication to our sport! Score was 22-17.

Sunday 9th of July venue Ballinagore, St.Croans V Cuchulainn in Ladies was our first game for the day. Croans pitcher was injured in the first innings which ended up with the Roscommon ladies conceding the game.

Ballinagore hosted Cuchulainn in mixed next. A sporting game with great hitting & catching by all who was playing. Congratulations to Ballinagores Colette & David on their wedding as well. 23 V 22.
