Championship week 9

Game week 9 started on the 13th of July in Tymon Park, Greenhills ladies hosted Cuchulainn. The Carlow side had their eyes on the semi finals from the get go! The south's Chantelle Cole had a rocket of a catch in the first innings & team mate Carmel Moloney made a superb over the head catch to secure her club a place in this years semis. Final result 37-14.

 
Carrickmacross traveled to the North of Dublin to take on Na Fianna men on the 16th in the first of 3 games taking place that day. Carrick's batting was on top form especially Patrick Bermingham, Ronan Kiernan & Justin Burns who all scored home runs.Game ended 37-3 in favor of the Monaghan side.
 
Down in Dublin we had Ladies & Mixed competition taking place. A replay of last years Ladies finals, Limekiln V Glynn/Barntown. The Dubliners cathcer Anita Kelly was flying with three outstanding catches. Very Little separated each team for the 5 innings. Limekiln managed to scrape a win 15-12. 
 
Limekiln Mixed took on Erne Eagles after. Eagles hit hard from the start leaving Limekiln trailing behind. Ellen Maguire hit a monster ball to bring son Luke home for the equalizing run. Match result 8-8, stand out play for this game came from Cavans Gary Reilly.
 
Tuesday the 18th St.Croans made the long travel to Na Fianna. The Capitals Ann Murphy stood out at catcher with most outs of the game. However Roscommons Caroline Winters was play of the match when she made an outstanding catch and doubled it to second base. 19-19 was the final result.
 
Thursday brought an end to game week 9 with two games scheduled. A local derby in mixed competition was up first in McGrath Park, Bagenalstown hosted Cuchulainn. A good sporting game took place between neighboring clubs with the home team claiming victory 15-10.
 
Limekiln V The Heath men was the last game for week 9. Limekiln taking control of the game from the first innings ran out comfortable winners 20-6. The Heaths Donnagh Treacy stood out again in this game with some great catches.
