Feile na nGael

Our under 14 Feile na nGael took place on June 16th, in the Connacht centre of excellence, Mayo.

Emo Laois became our 2018 Boy's champions. Their first game was against last years gold medalists, The Heath of Laois, which they suffered a narrow defeat. Emos next challenge was against Na Fianna Dublin, winning this 7-5, securing them selves a spot in the Semi Final against Mayos Breaffy. Laois' Charlie Hand, had a 100% success rate at batting, helping advance his team to the All Ireland Final. Emos first challenge of the day would also be their last, some fine batting from Brochan O Reilly & superb fielding by David Costello, gave us a different outcome, Emo 29 v The Heath 10.

Emo Girls first opposition of the day was Cuchulainn Carlow, adequate batting from Anna Hanlon, provided her squad a win on a scoreline of 16-5. Next up was Breaffy Mayo, Grainne Keogh had an outstanding game on Second base for the Laois side, securing most outs and advancing her team to the Semi Finals, were they then faced Easkey Sligo. Seven of Emo's players had a 100% success rate at bat finishing the game 20-1. They now faced last years champions Athenry, neither teams losing a game all day, it was all to play for. Alice Kerins pitching was fantastic, doubled up with Catcher Ciara Crowley, firing throws to 1st base helped Emo become our new under 14 Girls champions, 20-13.
